Take this from a kid's point of view, not some fourty year old couch potato kind of man. After all, children are optimistic, right? Wrong. I'm telling you the RAW truth about Mario Kart for Nintendo DS. This is one of the greatest games created yet for the DS system. The graphics are wonderful, and it is just overall really fun. You even get to pick your character from a number of Mario and Luigi thingamabobers. You also get to pick your "kart" A.K.A. car. I recommend this game to everyone. You'll REALLY enjoy it, I swear! And if you don't, that's crazy.

From the moment you begin playing Brain Age you'll realise that it's unlike any other experience. It's probably the only game ever made that begins with a doctor addressing you - a prominent Japanese neuroscientist to be exact. He asks a few quick questions to get the ball rolling as he scopes out your "brain age". It's kind of unnerving actually. After displaying a couple of brain scans in various states of activity (or inactivity), the doctor explains that your brain is like any muscle and will shrivel without exercise. Old brains are bad, young brains are good. Once you pass the opening formalities the doctor runs you through a more rigourous series of tests (math problems, memorization drills, concentration sets...). The good doctor then assigns you your first daily brain age rank. If it's good (low) he'll congratulate you and encourage you to keep working hard. If it's bad (high) he'll chide you and issue a warning about the dangers of aging brains. As the game progresses he'll ask you random questions which contribute to your overall profile. This is where the genius of this game truly shines. Anyone could assemble a collection of mini math games and assorted brain teasers. Nintendo however has wrapped this all up in a diagnostic package. It feels like the game is studying you. Each day you log in the goal is clear and the feedback perfect. The interface is quick and simple, the touch screen works remarkably well and the voice recognition is a nice touch too. I must lower my brain age!
Professor Layton and the Curious Village

This game is challenging and a lot of fun. The storyline is interesting and easy to follow, but for me it's all about the puzzles. The brainteasers in the game are form Puzzle Master Akira Tago, a retired professor from Chiba University, who wrote "Head Gymnastics." Many of them are classics and they will bring back instant memories of your early education. Some puzzles are pretty tough and hint coins can be found to help with these. Remember, many of the puzzles need to be solved before you can advance to the next part of the story; use your hint coins wisely. (Small Spoiler: The hint coins are scattered throughout the village. Click everywhere, you'll uncover them.) Pros: - The touch screen/stylus controls are simple and easy to learn. - You can save your progress at any time. - Animated scenes and voice acting are very good. - Your "Puzzle Index" keeps track of all the puzzles you've solved. You can even tag your favorites in your "Picks" section. - You can download more puzzles from WFC every week. Cons: - I've needed a pen and paper a few times when the puzzles were a bit more challenging and there wasn't enough room on the DS screen for notes. - Only the animated scenes are "fully voiced". During game-play, all the conversations are text/subtitles. No biggie really as it doesn't detract from the experience. More to come later; I gotta get back to playing. :)

Lots of fun mini-games that are great family fun. Different play modes. Single player is the only mode you can "win prizes". Multiplayer has two modes. Head to head you can pick your own games to compete; whereas, competition the game will randomly choose 5 games to compete. Tickets you win can be used to play alley arcade games or buy clothing and such. Just like at a real carnival you can trade in prizes you win for bigger prizes. The games are grouped into 6 alleys: 1) Fortune Way - Alley Ball (aka skeeball), Test your strength, Hoops, Collection plate. The great swami--alley arcade game, which you need tickets to play 2) Love Lane - Spilled milk, balloon darts, frog leap, bowler coastet. Alley arcade game-Meter-0-love 3) Rodent Row - Shooting gallery, pigskin pass, shoot for the stars, buckets of fun. Alley arcade game-Going nuts 4) Claw alley - Clown splash, hole in one, ring toss, ka-pow. Alley arcade game-prize claw. 5) Lucky Pass - Nerves of steel, lucky cups, day at the races, dunk tank. Alley Arcade game- push a prize. 6) Prize Boulevard - Every game has 4 prize levels. 4 smalls you can trade in for a medium, 3 mediums for a large, 2 large "grand prize". We haven't gotten to the grand prize as we've playing in mulitplayer mode, but I believe it unlocks new games. Nothing new with using the Wii remote..same ol' as other mini games. We had to exchage the game due to problems with the "Rodent Row" screen. Everything was all bunched up so you couldn't read anything or even make out the graphics. It didn't do it all the time, but I figured it was best to exchange if for a new one. So far we haven't had any problems with the new game.

Our entire family loves this game. I was really hesitant to purchase it. I thought it looked a little "cheesy" and put it back on the shelf several times. Who wants to spend that much to take a chance? Anyway, I am so glad we own it. My boys are five and six, and they can't get enough of it. Most of the games are easy enough to play without any problem, although the wall climbing frustrates them when they can't get their timing down. I love the fact they both play at the same time and have the choice to work together (great for teamwork building!) or to compete against each other. They get very excited when they earn new levels and unlock new games to play. They also love passing the outdoor adventure series which are strings of activities that must all be completed. In this level you complete the activities much like a triathalon rather than one at a time. Coordination on all challenges has increased for the kids. My six year old even jumps real rope better! It's great there is just one mat and two people can play on it. That makes it easier to store. Hubby and I play too. We compete against each other or with one of the boys on their team. I wore my heart rate monitor and was thrilled to see I hit the fat burning zone and even cardio zone! We all have our favorite challenges, and I am sure you will too. The graphics aren't the best, but who cares when it gets you going like this? It's a great use of what the Wii can do and the game rarely, if ever, misses a motion. It feels like you really are completely interactive!! I purchased this for my friend's girls (ages 8 and 10) and she has the same to say. Have fun!

With any luck Frank Miller's "Sin City" will inspire a new genre of filmmaking - a literal union between filmmaking and the world of comic books/graphic novels. I know, I know, there have been countless films inspired by the world of comic books which have attempted to recreate the chills and thrills. Not one of them - even the best (e,g,, Spiderman series, Tales from the Crypt, etc.) has been remotely as successful as the creative team that gives us this brilliant, jarring, vision. Rodriguez, Miller and company obviously put themselves (and the cast) through painstaking paces to assure every frame, every emotion emoted by an astonishing array of live talent is instilled with the gritty, graphic hyperrealism of the world of Frank Miller. It is a breathtaking achievement which, alas, will go unnoticed and be underappreciated by many who don't "get" this world. The cast is nothing short of remarkable: Mickey Rourke gives his finest performance since Barfly - maybe ever. Bruce Willis has never given a better performance than the retiring cop, Hartigan. Everyone involved is obviously relishing having the time of their lives. Outside of Shakespeare I can't imagine anything currently more theatrically over-the-top and satisfying than being associated with Sin City. For many the violence will be of too gory and graphic in nature (gorygraphic?). Others will enjoy the rough ride but also be appreciative of the often stunning beauty of so many of this film's images. The final tale in the trilogy of stories that make up the movie is shot with the cool and chill of winter bathed in a snow storm of such exquisite beauty that I don't find it difficult to say it is among the most beautiful images I've seen in any film. Ever.

The first disc features 11 deleted and extended scenes. There's more of the opening ambush with Tony Stark being more proactive. We also see more footage of Rhodes and it quickly becomes apparent that he was the character with the most scenes cut from the film. We also see Tony and Pepper Potts attend another party.
The second disc starts off with the impressive "I Am Iron Man," a 108 minute making of documentary that can be viewed in seven segments or altogether, taking us through various aspects of the production. For example, we are taken step-by-step through the construction of the Iron Man armor with Robert Downey Jr. cracking jokes while being fitted for it. It's amazing how much of the suit is practical and looks really good in person. This is due in large part to the genius of the late-great Stan Winston and his company. Also included is plenty of soundstage footage of scenes being filmed...

From then on, play it safe was his motto. This may be one of the greatest tragedies to beset popular American culture in the 20th century; despite the depths of pretension and kitch in "Fantasia," it was at least evidence of a spirited mind in pursuit of the unattained -- but "Pinocchio" must have broken old Walt's heart. There are visual effects in this movie that remained unchallenged until the digital age, and it's worth recalling that every single one of them was drawn by hand. It has one of the most beautiful and exciting musical scores in the history of the movies (I can't hear Cliff Edwards' high, pure falsetto holding that final note of "When You Wish Upon a Star" without chills), a deeply plangent sense of emotion that never tips over into bathos, and a wealth of detail that is still staggering after 65 years. But it may be too dark a movie to attain the popularity of more cheerful Disney cartoons like "Snow White" -- although even that one can frighten the tots. With the successful reboot of the James Bond franchise with Casino Royale (Three-Disc Collector's Edition), fans speculated what the next adventure would be and who would be the director. With the new look and attitude expertly established by Martin Campbell, the producers made the decision to have Marc Forster helm the next one, Quantum of Solace. At first, he seems like a rather odd candidate to direct as he's known mainly for edgy independent films like Monster's Ball and the sentimental biopic Finding Neverland (Widescreen Edition). However, his choice makes more sense once you realize that his films are predominantly character-driven and Casino Royale had much more of an emphasis on character than most other Bond films.
Forster does a surprisingly excellent job creating a lean, no frills revenge story under the guise of a Bond film. He is more than capable of handling the action sequences, of which there are many, and invests us in Bond's personal quest for vengeance all the while fulfilling the usual expectations of a Bond film: beautiful women, death-defying stunts, exotic locales, and world-dominating villains. .... http://www.bluraysstore.us/
